So here it is! I can't believe the world of blogging has finally caught up with me. Or rather, I caught up to the world of blogging. ;) If you're reading this, then you've ventured over to my shiny, new website, and I'm so happy you're here!
First and foremost, I'm so excited to use this page and this format to showcase my work, and introduce myself a little bit more to those of you who don't really know me. Before I show you my beautiful studio space though, a little bit about me. I get asked all the time how I got into photography. I always laugh, because I've always been into photography. As a little girl, I asked Santa for a camera when I was probably around 8 years old. In high school, I did the whole yearbook thing, shadowed a professional photographer, and my passion just continued to grow for the medium. I then went away to college where I immersed myself into an intensive four year fine arts program, and made photography my focus major. I lived, breathed, slept photography for four years, and was surrounded by some of the most artistic and inspiring people I've met to date. This truly allowed me to grow to be the artist I am today. Following graduation, I worked a couple of studio jobs for big box companies, and honestly, hated every second of it. It just wasn't ME. It wasn't creative, it wasn't personal, and most of all it wasn't at all what I wanted people's experiences to be, nor what they deserved. Fast forward to five years ago, and with much encouragement from my family and friends, Lia Giannotti Photography was born. And THIS is what I envisioned, and wanted. I wanted to create a personal and creative experience for my clients, and it's what I continue to strive for today. So after 15 years of being behind the camera, both as a student, and then a professional, here I am today, and I look back and love where it has brought me.
So, let's fast forward to today. Today I am in my fifth full year of running my own wonderful business. I have met so many incredible people who I have formed relationships with and friendships. Two and a half years ago, another big goal of mine was reached when I moved into my new studio space. It was everything I wanted. I knew I didn't want to be in a commercial strip mall space. It just wasn't me. And let's be honest, with two little guys at home, and babies at the time, it wasn't right for me. So I landed on this beautiful, charming and perfectly quaint little studio and have spent the last 2 1/2 years polishing it it up, and making it my own. I still have quite a bit more to do, but I'm so proud of how far it's come. Last year, I decided to create a little stone pathway, and perennial beds. Just this past week, with the help of family, I extended the beds, and can't wait for them to mature and grow into the vision I have in my head. I still need more artwork on the walls, and plan to hang all of my little trinkets and accessories, but for now, I'm loving the warmth and coziness it exudes. It's very much a reflection of me. I love that this space allows me the opportunity to shoot both indoors and out, and I have done a great deal of both here. It's a feature my clients have grown to love.
So feel free to take a look around, make yourself at home, and welcome to The Studio. I hope you love what you see. Most of all, thank you for checking out my site, and getting to know a little bit more about Lia Giannotti Photography. I hope to meet you soon. :)
Before we head inside, here's the new pathway and perennial garden I mentioned before.
It's no secret I'm a glorified prop-a-holic. Here's a look around at just a few of the many things I have to customize each client's session.
And lastly, here's one of the things I'm most excited about! I've been a vendor of these beautiful frames for over a year now, and there is nothing more beautiful than seeing your families moments displayed in these frames, hanging right on your wall. Each one is also handmade right here in the USA, and are 100% customized to your liking.
