A whole lot of LOVE! Best of 2015 highlights // Lia Giannotti Photography Weddings & Engagements

So, here it is. I pondered whether I was going to put together a highlight reel this year, but I just had to. Because this year was just THAT good! I finish every year as my best year yet, and this year continues in much the same way. I've spent a few hours going through all of my wedding and portrait session galleries, and am left feeling so fulfilled. Looking through these images brings me completely back. No only do I relive the day I took them, but I'm smiling all over again at the amazing people in them. I can go on and on about how much I love this "job" of mine, but it's because of every person in these images who trust me to capture these moments for them, that I am able to continue to pursue my passion. Being behind the camera has always been my happy place, but being able to be a part of people's stories, and documenting these moments takes it to a whole new level. To all of my amazing "clients", (we all know we're friends now), thank you from the bottom of this photographers heart, for trusting me with capturing your love. It makes me smile, it makes me giddy, and well, it just makes me happy! Wishing everyone an amazing 2016, full of more love, more happiness, and more smiles for all! <3

Now, sit back, and enjoy... and p.s. there's a lot of images here, because well, I just couldn't narrow it down any further. Images are displayed in no particular order, so scroll through, and find yourself. :)

Lindsey & Matt are Married // A Beautiful, Summer, Metro Detroit Wedding, July 25, 2015

Let me take you back to a day this summer, where the temperature reached 92 degrees, and the heat index had to be rounding out to 100. The sun was bursting through the sky the day Matt & Lindsey said their I-do's. I've been smiling while putting these photos together for their blog. What I love most is all of the little stolen moments and glances they kept giving each other throughout the whole day. They're some of my favorites to date.

So let's head on back to July, and check out a few of my favorites from Matt & Lindsey's gorgeous day. I can feel the warmth already. ;)

Eric + Kathleen // Our Lady of the Scapular Church, Silver Shores, Wyandotte, MI Wedding Photography June 27, 2015

Eric & Kathleen's wedding day was definitely one for the record books. Mother Nature woke up that morning with a plan, and that was to pour buckets the entire day. However, and that's a big however, because the two of them didn't let one drop get in the way of their smiles, love and happiness. I have so much admiration for the way they handled the weather. I mean, to some, it could have completely flattened them, but not these two. They woke up that morning knowing they'd be marrying their best friend, and nothing was going to get in the way of their happily ever after...

Out of the rain, comes amazing opportunities. It doesn't happen often when I can "play" in the rain. At the end of the night, I asked them if we could take some shots outside, and they completely humored me and ran out the door behind me. They spent some beautiful moments dancing in the rain, and it was magical

Here's a little bit of the loveliness that was Eric & Kathleen's beautiful day...

Jon + Ashley // Baronette Renaissance Detroit Hotel, Novi, MI Wedding Photographer 4/25/2015

I'm so excited to be able to start sharing some of the beautiful weddings I've had the honor of photographing. They've been sitting in my computer, and it feels so good to get them out for all the world to see! First up is Jon & Ashley, who were married this past April at The Baronette Renaissance Detroit Hotel Novi. Not only was it a beautiful day full of sunshine and love, but what struck me the most about their day was the emotion that exuded from everyone around them. You could feel the love pouring, and I teared up myself throughout much of the day. Ashley & Jon filled their day with so many personal touches, both in the details, and through their experiences and what they wanted to incorporate. Here's a look at how their day began. Then keep scrolling to see the rest of their story unfold....

Jon & Ashley decided they wanted to do a first look, and it did not disappoint. Ashley actually took it a step further, and wanted to do a first look with the mothers, and then with her father as well. I'm not kidding you when I tell you my heart was just bursting through all of these. So much love. It was perfect! First off... the moms!

And now it's dads turn to see his girl. The connection between these two is so powerful to see.

The moment Jon's been waiting for. He gets to see his beautiful bride for the first time...

From here we headed out to two very personal, and sentimental locations. The first is Detroit Firehouse, Ladder 22, where Jon is a proud fireman. Following that, we drove a few blocks to Michigan Central Station, and took photos in the very spot Jon proposed to Ashley just the year before.

Heading back to The Baronette to go become Mr. & Mrs....

Hand carved bench from the bride's brother, and handmade MI chairs and table by the bride's father. Pretty incredible if you ask me.

Ashley & Jon, looking through the moments of your day puts a smile on my face all over again. I will never forget the love & emotions that I witnessed! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of it! ~Lia
